Jaguar has released another teaser of the upcoming I-Pace which shows the all-wheel drive SUV playing in the snow and undergoing cold-weather testing in Arjeplog, Sweden. The British firm also confirmed it will reveal the five-seater EV in full on March 1, one week ahead of its debut at the Geneva Motor Show and almost two years after the concept was shown at the LA auto show.
Jaguar isn’t giving any details away before the reveal but has confirmed its first electric vehicle will feature a 100kW DC rapid charger to rival Tesla’s 120kW Supercharger network. Sharing the same peak charging current as the upcoming Nissan Leaf EV the I-Pace will recharge its 90kWh battery pack from zero to 80 per cent in 45 minutes, giving it a quick charge distance of around 400km to play with if the original 500km total range figure of the concept car remains.
“Not only will the I-PACE charge quickly enough for our customers to carry out their everyday lives, it will offer powerful and precise performance in a variety of conditions and climactic extremes. Allied with the versatile credentials of our celebrated PACE family, this will be an electric performance SUV like no other,” he said.
Full details will be revealed at the live-streamed event held March 2 at 5:00am AEST, but the car has been confirmed for Australia and will arrive in October this year, with some dealers already taking orders.
