HSV pump up SportsCat+
Holden Special Vehicles has stretched the claws of its SportsCat dual-cab ute.
The Holden hot-rod shop has revealed details of a limited edition that brings a unique appearance.
Dubbed the SportsCat R, and based on the range-topping SportsCat+, the car will be exclusively available in a high-quality Mineral Black paint featuring gloss black elements in the grille, lower bumper and 18-inch alloy wheels while contrasting bright red highlights in the air intakes, on the bonnet bulge and the sail plane in the tray.
Making it stand-out even more, there's red HSV logos on the side of the tray and decals that frame the tub and door sills.
The SportsCat R will be restricted to just 100 units (with 98 available in Australia and just two heading to New Zealand), is only offered with a six-speed automatic transmission and costs $65,990 (plus on-roads).
It comes loaded with all the standard gear offered in the SportsCat+, including sports seats trimmed in leather and Alcantara, additional leather on the door panels, centre console and steering wheel and an 8.0-inch touch screen with sat nav, digital radio, Bluetooth and smartphone mirroring for Apple and Android devices.
Under the bonnet, it is powered by the same 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel as the Holden Colorado it is based upon, producing 147kW of power and 500Nm of torque. But its suspension has been upgraded - and jacked-up - and the stability control retuned by HSV, while an optional AP Racing brake kit can be fitted for an additional $1995.
However, it already has a decent spread of active safety features including forwrd collission alert, lane departure warning, trailer sway control and front and rear parking sensors on top of the protection offered by seven airbags.
