Australia’s greatest car show is back for its ninth year.

Motorclassica, arguably the most important event on the classic car calendar, returns to Melbourne’s Royal Exhibition Building this weekend.

More than 140 cars and motorcycles will be on display from October 12-14, competing for Motorclassica's Australian International Concours d’Elegance across multiple classes.

This year marks the first public Australian debut for McLaren 600LT and McLaren Senna as well as the unveiling of the first Ford Mustang Bullitt to be sold in the country. Ford's GT Le Mans racer is also on show, fresh from an appearance at the Bathurst 1000.

Among Ford, McLaren and Mercedes-Benz premieres, Renault will also launch the Alpine 110 in an Australian Premiere Edition.

Limited to just 60 examples, the Alpine 110 Premiere Edition heralds the arrival of the French brand into the Australian market.

This year’s show will celebrate 90 years of the Australian Grand Prix by running an exhibition of racers throughout the decades, as well as the very first winning car from 1928.

The show will also celebrate 70 years of Harley-Davidson Panhead and 60 years of the Triumph Bonneville motorcycles, as well as celebrating a range of Micro Cars on display.

An exciting opportunity for Mustang-lovers attending the show is the chance to test drive a 2018 GT Mustang in a 90-minute cruise around Melbourne, as long as the ticket holder is over 25 and has a full unrestricted driver’s licence.

Lamborghini will also showcase its Urus luxury SUV, as well as the new Aventador S Roadster.

However, the star attraction is likely to be McLaren's Senna - a road-legal supercar developed to be the “ultimate McLaren track-concentrated car for the road”.

Named after F1 legend Ayrton Senna, only 500 examples will be produced, and all have sold out.
