Nissan has announced its pricing and specifications for the 2018 Qashqai SUV which features refreshed styling front and rear along with a petrol-only line-up.

The previous TS and TL diesel-powered models have been removed due to poor sales performance and Nissan’s 2.0-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine will power all Qashqai variants for 2018.

The completely revised front-end styling sees a fresh new face incorporating the Nissan ‘V-motion’ grille and a new bumper underneath. At the rear, the Qashqai gets one of two new bumper designs depending on grade.

The Japanese maker has also joined other brands in adding autonomous emergency braking to base variants, seeing all Qashqai grades standard with AEB, forward collision alert and lane departure warning.

Kicking off pricing from $26,490 (plus on-road costs) with manual transmission is the entry-level ST, $500 more expensive than before and the only grade to offer anything other than a CVT transmission. The ST with CVT costs an additional $1500 and both versions come equipped with cloth trim, 17-inch alloys, LED headlights, 5.0-inch infotainment with Bluetooth, rear view camera, front and rear parking sensors, leather steering wheel and keyless start.

The mid-spec ST-L is priced from $32,990 (plus on-road costs) and adds 18-inch alloys, fog lights, tinted windows, roof rails, larger 7.0-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation and DAB+, partial leather trim and 360-degree camera with object detection.

The previous top-spec Ti will not arrive until the middle of 2018, leaving the N-Tec variant as the highest grade available, priced from $36,490. It adds 19-inch alloys, adaptive LED headlights, panoramic sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, dual-zone climate control, blind spot monitoring, automatic parking assistant, automatic high beam assist and driver monitoring.

When the Ti arrives next year, it will add Nappa leather trim, adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist on top of the N-Tec’s kit.

The 2018 Nissan Qashqai model range is available now.
