Audi is launching its revised version of its giant-killing go-fast RS3 hatch with even more performance.
Joining its sedan sibling in the local line-up the RS3 Sportback is priced from $80,900 before on-road costs, which is a rise of more than $2500 compared to the previous version.
However, with the modest price rise comes a jump in outputs from the the 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, with power and torque boosted to 294kW and 480Nm, a rise of 24kW and 15Nm respectively.
Coupled with the increase in engine outputs, Audi has also managed to shred 26kg thanks to a new aluminum crankcase.
All this adds up to a blistering 0-100km/h time of just 4.1 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds faster than before.
A slick seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission delivers the extra force to all four wheels via Audi's permanent all-wheel drive quattro system.
Standard gear for the RS3 Sportback includes LED headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels, large eight-piston brake calipers, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, DAB+ digital radio, 180-watt 10 speaker stereo and rear view camera with park assist.
Safety equipment for the RS3 Sportback includes lane assist, adaptive cruise control and rear cross traffic alert among others.
