Mitsubishi has recalled a trio of models in Australia this week, due to a potential problem with the Constantly Variable Transmission (CVT).

The CVT (essentially a single-speed automatic transmission) in the affected vehicles may experience a delay in acceleration under certain driving conditions.

A sudden and unexpected drop in performance in these circumstances could cause a hazard for the vehicle occupants and other road users.

A total of 31,965 vehicles are on the recall list for Australia, including the 2015 and ‘2015.5’ Mitsubishi ASX (20,925 examples), the CF Lancer (2070 examples) and the 2016 ZK Outlander (8970 examples).
