MINI HAS ANNOUNCED the addition of two new models to its Australian line-up, both built to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original BMC Mini.

The MINI 50 Mayfair and MINI 50 Camden will be offered for a limited time from November onwards.

Both models will command a premium over the regular MINI offerings, but buyers will gain more luxury, more style and more features for the extra spend.

The MINI 50 Mayfair comes with the choice of white or black exterior paint in addition to the new (and exclusive to the Mayfair) Hot Chocolate metallic hue.

A set of 17-inch 12-spoke alloy wheels are standard, as are supplementary driving lights in the front grille, bonnet stripes and Mayfair badging.

Inside, the Mayfair boasts leather sports seats, a leather-trimmed sports steering wheel and more special-edition badges.

The MINI 50 Mayfair is available in Cooper, Cooper S and Cooper D variants, with the top-spec Cooper S also scoring Xenon headlights as standard.

The MINI 50 Camden is the more dynamic of the pair, wearing exclusive White Silver metallic paintwork (black and metallic blue are optional) and sporting an intriguing silver stripe treatment on top of the front wheel arches.

A quartet of 17-inch alloys are standard as are special colour-shifting stripes on the wing mirror housings - a unique feature shared with the Mayfair.

Sports seats trimmed in black and white leather brighten up the interior, and a Harman Kardon premium stereo system is included.

MINI has chosen to gift the Camden with its new Mission Control information display as well, which displays a wide range of vehicle data to the driver.

As with the Mayfair, the MINI 50 Camden will be available from November in Cooper, Cooper D and Cooper S trim.

Performance is unchanged despite the extra kit, meaning the diesel-specced Cooper D Camden and Mayfair use an ultra-thrifty 3.9 l/100km on the combined cycle. The petrol engine Cooper S models accelerate from 0-100km/h in 7.4 seconds and the regular Cooper still drinks just 5.8l/100km.
