Mercedes-Benz has issued a recall for its Sprinter van, due to a potential problem with the van’s windows.

The carmaker has identified a weakness with the bonding material used to secure the window aperture, which may allow it to detach from the vehicle.

Should this occur during a collision, there may be an increased risk of injury to the vehicle’s occupants.

A specific group of Sprinters is on the recall list, with just 16 examples affected in Australia.

The German carmaker issued a recall for a different van last week, when its Vito van was targeted for a potential fuel leak.

Mercedes-Benz will attempt to contact affected owners shortly, but any owner wishing to learn more about the latest round of recalls should contact their local dealer or phone Mercedes-Benz Australia on 03 9566 9266.
