Mercedes-Benz Australia has announced availability of the SL350 Night Edition, limited to 25 examples split between the matte-black 'Designo Magno' and metallic 'Obsidian Black' versions.
Priced at $246,000 (Manufacturer's List Price*), both versions of the SL350 Night Edition get a number of unique features inside and out.
Large 19-inch five-spoke light-alloy AMG wheels feature at each corner, in front of silver-painted brake calipers and vented discs. The Night Edition also gets the darkened headlamps and tail lights of the SL 63 AMG and SL 65 AMG.
The door handles feature a high-gloss finish on both versions, while the shoulder-line trim and door faceplate are finished in chrome.
Inside, new seats in Nappa leather get diagonal fluting, arrow-shaped seams and silver-coloured contrast elements. The sports steering wheel and door lining are in black with the same silver stitching.
Other interior features include black ash wood trim, door sill panels with Mercedes-Benz logos, 'Night Edition' badging on the seat backrests (also embroidered on the floormats), AirScarf with silver-coloured fans and draught-stop with a chrome trim strip.
The announcement of the special-edition SL350 comes ahead of the launch of the next-generation SL-Class, recently spied testing at the Nurburgring in Germany.
The new SL is expected to draw styling cues from the the model line's range-topping SLS AMG, including the nearly 90-degree grille and vertically-opposed headlights.
