Mercedes-Benz has given us a sneak peak at the front end of the E63 AMG sedan, as it prepares to unveil the car at the New York Motor Show next month.

While the partial reveal hardly gives the game away, we can easily spot changes to the grill, air damn shaping, fog lights and surrounds, as well as the addition of gills to the front bumper.

The standard E-Class (pictured below) is already quite a svelte piece of kit, and it looks like the AMG iteration will add just enough muscle to appease Mercedes rev-heads.

As for what lies under the skin, word on the street is that the 6.3 litre V8 engine is still putting out around 391kW (525hp) and 630Nm (460 lb-ft) of torque - maybe AMG is sticking to its word about the end of the horsepower wars, after all.

If so, expect the E63 to feature lighter construction and perhaps some additional technology to ensure it can keep pace with its now more-powerful competitors.

Expect a price tag in the €80,000 to €90,000 range (AUD $157,000 - 177,000). We'll bring you more information on the latest from AMG when the covers come off in New York.
