Mercedes-Benz Australia has released the E 280 Sports Edition for a limited time only. The Sports Edition is priced from $98,000, a saving of $11,000 over a similarly optioned E 280.

The Sports Edition version of the E 280 features a swag of normally optional kit as standard, including metallic paint, electric sunroof, COMAND APS stereo system combining MP3 playback and satellite navigation, lowered sports suspension, dual chrome exhausts, 18 inch alloy wheels, double stitched sport seats, steering wheel shift paddles and a glass electric sunroof.

“The E-Class is the executive sedan and wagon of choice in its market segment and with the E 280 Sports Edition we have taken the opportunity to put together a package for our customers that offers outstanding value by incorporating the most popular options for a substantial saving in excess of $11,000," said Mr Horst von Sanden, managing director of Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific.

The Sports Edition is available on the E 280 Saloon or Estate with the 170kW/300Nm 3.0 litre petrol V6 and the E280 CDI Saloon or Estate with the 140kW/440Nm 3.0 litre diesel. All E 280 Sports Editions feature the 7G-TRONIC seven speed automatic transmission.

The E 280 Sports Edition is now available at Mercedes-Benz dealers nationwide until 31 August, 2008 or until stock runs out.
