Mazda Taiki for Sydney Motor Show

Good grief, Mazda is still churning out the concepts... (stop mucking around Mazda, get back to work on the RX7 for goodness sake).

No, only kidding... fair dinkum, the futuristic Taiki concept car will be worth an eyeball when it lobs at the Sydney Motor Show running from October 9 to the 19th, 2008.

The Taiki is the fourth in a series of Mazda concept cars that have toured the world Motor Show circuit. Earlier this year, Melbourne Motor Show audiences were shown a glimpse of what's to come from the innovative Japanese car maker with the appearance of the Mazda Hakaze concept. The Taiki is a bit of a coup and some welcome news for the Sydney Motor Show, which, if reports circulating the industry prove correct, has been whacked about the head a bit by some of the German marques (making 'grand prix' of themselves).

On its first visit to the southern hemisphere, the Taiki concept features winged wheelarches and sleek, flowing design with a traditional sports car front-engine, rear-wheel drive layout (there, that got your attention), and powered by a next-generation rotary engine.

"The Taiki concept gives Australian show-goers a glimpse into Mazda's exciting future, especially in the areas of design and technology," According to Mazda Australia Managing Director, Doug Dickson

"Taiki is Mazda's commitment to making sure the sports cars of tomorrow are not only visually provocative, they will be exhilarating to drive and environmentally friendly as well."

Visually provocative? Hmm, the eyeball viagra won't be needed then...
