Maserati’s fastest-ever production model, the GranTurismo S—upon which the track-spec GranTurismo MC Corse is based—has landed in Sydney for its Australian debut at the Australian International Motor Show in October.

Leading up to the event, the GranTurismo S took in the sights of Sydney, showing off its twin-silencer exhaust system that offers the ability to trumpet the car’s presence to passers-by with the crackling note of Sport mode, and a quieter cruising mode for casual town driving.

The GranTurismo S, the new flagship of the Maserati range, is powered by a 4.7 litre 323kW V8 engine, with an electro-actuated MC Shift system.  The S also has a transaxle layout, and dual-cast technology brakes.

The GranTurismo S powers to 100kmh in 4.9 seconds on its way to a maximum speed of 295kmh—the highest ever reached by a standard production Maserati.
