Remember that LF-A racecar that was spotted around the Nurburgring not so long ago? Well, it's already begun competing in preliminary events in the ADAC Rundstrecken Trophy Endurance series and we've now got some video for you of it racing wheel-to-wheel around the famous German circuit.
The LF-A managed to place 77th overall in the Saturday's race. That might sound a bit lame for a car that is supposed to spearhead Lexus' no-holds-barred assault on the supercar market, but remember that very little on this car has been changed from what we'll see in the road-going model. Not only that, but this was the LF-A's very first outing in wheel-to-wheel racing against more dedicated track machinery.
As we reported earlier, the LF-A's presence at the ADAC series is primarily a data-gathering exercise for the boffins at Lexus and is meant to be a validation of the low-slung coupe's reliability under the unique stresses of racing, not a quest for trophies.
We'll have more for you later, as well as coverage of how it performs at the main event: the 24-hour race on the 24th of this month. For now though enjoy the video below, which gets pretty up close and personal with the LF-A. Still images are available at Autoblog.
