J.D. Power and Associates have released the results of their annual "car buying experience" consumer satisfaction survey (a US based survey) and Lexus have reclaimed the crown. This time around the survey has revealed that the level of customer satisfaction being achieved by dealers is at an all time high – or alternatively, cars are better made resulting in less unwarranted dealer visits.

The average score achieved by manufacturers was 852 out of 1,000 and Lexus bettered their 2006 result (5th place) by 10 points to take line honours with a total of 897 in the 2007 survey.

The J.D. Power and Associates survey attempts to measure customer satisfaction with the purchasing process including the dealership facilities, sales people, processing of paperwork, finance, delivery and of course the price.

Right behind Lexus were GM on 895 points and Ford on 893.
