Things aren't so flash over at Toyota's luxury brand Lexus with recent news indicating that declining sales and a failing US economy will see the delay of various upcoming models - including the LF-A supercar and GS-F mid-sized performance sedan.

Unfortunately the news gets worse. A redesign of the current IS series is still a few years away while the SC series is set for the axe, to be replaced by a coupe/convertible iteration of the IS.

The good news, if you can call it that, is that plans are still on track to introduce a Lexus-spec Toyota Prius into the line-up which should help bolster sales with the environmentally conscious.

The most disappointing aspect of this news is the LF-A delay, as Lexus could really use a 'halo-car' right now. But with reports indicating that the USD$200K supercar has failed to meet performance targets (it has the GT-R and Corvette ZR1 Nurburgring times to contend with remember), it's not hard to see why the company has chosen to sit back and re-assess the situation.
