Land Rover brought their LRX concept to Melbourne. Land Rover has conceived the LRX with new technologies, lightweight design and a turbo-diesel hybrid powertrain, and say that the three-door LRX addresses the needs of a changing world with a car that is very much a Land Rover, but a very different type of Land Rover – sort of a green(ish) SUV.

At this stage, the LRX is purely a concept, conceived as a premium car in the luxury and executive sector. The concept is actually based on the Land Rover Feelander chassis, although it is smaller than the Freelander overall.

It features full-time four-wheel drive, Hill Descent Control and Land Rover’s Terrain Response to optimise traction on difficult surfaces ranging from icy roads to wet grass, gravel and snow.
