It’s been simmering below the surface for a while now but news on the upcoming Lamborghini Murcielago SuperVeloce is finally becoming clearer.

To be officially tagged the Murcielago LP670-4 SV, Lamborghini’s latest raging bull is scheduled to surface at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

Despite keeping its steel chassis, the SV is set to lose around 100 kilograms though extensive use of carbon-fibre throughout the body and interior. Earlier reports that weight would be shed by making the car rear-wheel-drive look to be inaccurate, the biggest tip-off being the ‘4’ in the car's official name.

As well as losing weight, the SV is to gain around 22 kw (30 HP) for a total of 493 kW (662 HP) which should allow a 0-96 km/h sprint time of 3.2 seconds. Lamborghini’s E-gear transmission will come as standard, with shift-times shaved down to just 0.2 seconds.

A choice of two rear wings will be offered, one allowing a greater top speed, the other a slightly lower terminal velocity but greater downforce for tight track-work. To complete the package the raging bull will also come equipped with carbon ceramic brakes and gloss black, forged alloy rims.

Information leaked out of Lamborghini puts the Murcielago LP670-4 SV at an AUD$130,000 premium over the standard LP670-4. We’ll bring you all the official information as it breaks from the Geneva Show.
