The folks over at Kia World have got the scoop on Kia's plans for next month's Paris Motor Show and word is the Korean manufacturer plans to showcase its Cee'd Hybrid vehicle alongside the all-new Soul. As with almost everything (it seems) destined for Paris, images are available prior to opening.

This won't be the first time the Kia duo has been on display together but, unlike the showing at Geneva, this time around both will be in production trim.

Kia is tight-lipped about specifics but reports indicate the Cee'd will be powered by a 1.6 litre petrol engine with a 15kW electric motor available on-demand. Stop-start technology will be utilised to minimise consumption during idle periods and the hybrid drive-train will utilise regenerative braking to 'capture' charge for the electric motor.

Perhaps the most notable aspect of the revealed images is just how little the hybrid Cee'd differs from the standard model. Bar the revised instrument cluster, the interior looks identical, as does the exterior which benefits from an extra badge and nothing more (visible from the angle shown).

Until recently, the vast majority of hybrid vehicles have been prohibitively expensive and, at times, awkwardly styled. The Cee'd however may be precisely what the burgeoning hybrid industry needs. Backed by a company that excels in low cost transport, the Cee'd will likely hit the mark for price while the conventional styling may be just what buyers are looking for.
