Jensen Inteceptor gets modernised with LS2 Power

Classic cars have always been popular with those wanting a classy, eye-catching car for the weekend, however one of the main problems with owning one is that old cars have old technology, and old technology is often prone to problems. However, Cropredy Bridge have found a solution, and are starting a comprehensive restoration program for those wanting modern convenience, modern reliability and modern power in their Jensen Interceptor.

75,000 GBP will buy you one of 50 Jensen Interceptor S's, a re-built and re-tooled Inceptor that blends the classic Jensen shape with a modern powerplant, transmission and undercarriage. 309kW is supplied by a 6-litre LS2 V8 from General motors, which is mated to a 5-speed GM automatic: similar to the gearbox used in the last-generation VZ Commodore. Braking is now handled by 6-piston AP calipers on the front, while the rear suspension is a new independent design which incorporates a limited-slip differential.

Cropredy Bridge don't just throw this stuff in any old Jensen mind you. Only after a suitably damage-free donor car is found do they then strip it down to the bare metal, electrophoretically dip it to prevent rust, and then re-assemble with the new components and the customer's own paint choice.

Only 50 will be made and production has already started this month and should last for at least a couple of years. Once Cropredy Bridge are done with the Inteceptor S, I've got a pretty good idea for their next project: A Jensen FF with an R34 Skyline AWD powertrain. Old school, with a little bit of new school.
