You have to admire any person who takes it upon themselves to build their own supercar. Filandri Moreno is no exception. Hailing from Italy, Filandri has spent the past four years building his dream, from scratch.

Hand beaten panels adorn a hand built space frame, supported by hand built brakes, suspension and steering. With the exception of the mechanicals, the entire car is the work of this one talented 47 year old.

Powering the ‘Uragano’ is an Audi 4.2-litre V8 that Filandri sourced from a previous generation A8. The pictures make it obvious that Filandri has even bolted a fairly hefty turbo to the Audi V8, to ensure supercar performance.

Despite having more than a hint of Ferrari in the styling, the Uragano is certainly unique. Filandri has no intention of building more than one Uragano, he built this one to prove that he could do it. Well done Filandri!

Australia has had its share of supercar pioneers over the years, most recently the E-Vade and my personal favourite the JOSS supercar, which we have just learnt is heading for production – more on that later today.
