Ever since we tested one way back in November last year, pretty much all of us here at the kindergarten that is the TMR office agree the V36 Skyline Coupe 370GT is a brilliant machine. The perfect blend of sport and luxury, the 370GT also offers supremely composed dynamics and a ripper of an engine - and all at a highly competitive price.

But what happens when it lines up against the fresh-as-a-daisy Hyundai Genesis Coupe, a car which boasts all of the visual appeal, most of the power and less of the weight of the 370GT, but comes with a pricetag that's several thousand dollars lower?

The result, as it turns out, is pretty interesting. The lads at Inside Line put a brand-new Hyundai Genesis Coupe V6 head-to-head with the Skyline's American twin, the Infiniti G37 Coupe, in a battle to determine which was more worthy of your dollar.

Long story short, despite being slower and having less power, torque and on-road drivability, the Genesis got the crown. It won big praise for its on-track characteristics and predictable handling, while the fact that it retails for several Gorillas less than the Infiniti certainly won it favour too.

Inside Line were pretty exhaustive in their testing, with both cars being put on a chassis dyno before heading to the skidpad, dragstrip and racetrack. It's a good read, and considering the V36 Skyline is available now as a grey import and the Genesis Coupe may eventually make it down to Australia, we're sure more than a few of you would be interested in checking it out.

So, if you've got a few minutes to kill head over to Inside Line and have a read of their epic Korea v. Japan face-off. It's worth it.
