Idiot politician watch #1

Nothing surprises us when it comes to politicians anymore. It would seem that Australia is not the only country where any old fool is given a seat in Parliament. Messrs Bracks and Beattie have some similarly incompetent competition from across the pond.

Nothing surprises us when it comes to politicians anymore. It would seem that Australia is not the only country where any old fool is given a seat in Parliament. Messrs Bracks and Beattie have some similarly incompetent competition from across the pond.

When it comes to road safety, stamp duty and the environment our two wallys are joined by Mr Chris Davies a Liberal Democrat member of the European Parliament for the North West of England and Mr Davies is going for gold.

Autocar has reported that that the Euro Parliament will be considering a proposal to ban cars that are capable of reaching speeds over 101mph and this clever concept is the brainchild of Mr Davies…and wait till you hear his logic.

“Between 1994 and 2004 the power of new cars went up by 28 per cent, making them a lot heavier and so increasing the amount of CO2 they put out, even though no country raised its speed limit to allow the cars to use this increased power.” said Mr Davies

Honestly, that’s just too stupid to waste time even considering.

While most of the concern around the internet seems to centre around the demise of the Supercar should this idiocy somehow prevail we have to ask…what cars would remain legal? There are not too many cars that cannot manage to top 165km/h these days, so we can only assume it would be back to push-bikes and horses or maybe donkeys?
