Hyundai's quiet climb up the Australian sales charts has received a boost this week. Research firm Canstar Blue, the group behind Money Magazine's 'Bank of the Year' awards, has announced that Hyundai has taken top spot in its Customer Satisfaction Awards.

Surveying 2500 people on a range of services and products including airlines, mobile phone carriers and carmakers, the Canstar Blue awards saw Hyundai beat all-comers in the value for money category, along with point of sale service, after sale service and reliability.

"This is another strong endorsement of Hyundai's commitment to quality by Australian buyers. We are delighted our cars and our dealers are so highly regarded in this authoritative survey," Oliver Mann, Managing Director for Hyundai Australia said.

For overall satisfaction, Hyundai's five-star score was followed by four stars each for Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru and Toyota. Ford, Holden and Mitsubishi each scored three stars.

Nissan took the five-star top spot in the reliability category, followed by Toyota, Mitsubishi, Hyundai and Honda with four stars apiece. Holden, Ford, Mazda and Subaru rounded out the nine-brand survey with three stars each for reliability.

Note: Overall satisfaction is an individual rating and not a combined total of all ratings
