Hyundai is set to show off two examples of its latest technology at the Melbourne Motor Show, which starts next Friday the 27th of February.

The i30 blue will be the first mass production vehicle to wear the blue label, demonstrating the company?s commitment to lowering CO2 emissions and reducing costs for customers. The Hyundai i30 blue will utilise ISG (Idle Stop and Go) technology, a first for Hyundai.

The ISG system uses an advanced starter motor connected to the ECU, monitoring the car?s status at all times and ? in the case of Hyundai?s 1.6 litre petrol engine ? reducing fuel consumption by 7 percent on the official European combined cycle.

Idle Stop & Go automatically switches the car?s engine off when stopped in traffic, restarting the engine instantly in response to driver input when the traffic begins to move again.

The i30 blue, using this system, also achieves a lower CO2 rating of 142g/km, compared to the 152g/km achieved with the standard i30 1.6 litre petrol engine.

The i10 blue and i30 blue will join the all-new i20 small car and Genesis Coupe on Hyundai's stand at Melbourne.
