Hyundai's recent ESP Stability Control promotion has helped the Korean manufacturer achieve a record sales result for the month of June in Australia. Australian new car shoppers have been quick to respond to Hyundai's offer of free ESP on the 1.6 litre Getz SX, Elantra SX and Tucson City SX that finished on June 30.
“Not only have we had the best month ever for HMCA, but there are now more Hyundai vehicles than ever before fitted with this crucial life saving equipment on the road,” said Kevin McCann, Hyundai’s Director of Sales and Marketing.
Hyundai managed to sell 5,447 vehicles, compared to its previous best result of 5,221 sales in June 2005, with a number of models in its lineup achieving Hyundai's best ever results.
The big improvers were the i30 with 1,074 units sold, the iLoad with 257 units sold and the Tuscon SUV with 1,138 units finding new homes.
Hyundai's figures show thatwithin the Private / Business sector, customer choice for ESP Stability Control on Getz increased from 3% for April YTD to 14% in May / June, on Elantra from 15% to 76% and Tucson from 26% to 58% in the same period.
