Hyundai has outlined its plans for a 'hyper connected car' at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show in Las vegas this week.

The South Korean brand believes this will enable greater convenience for tomorrow's lifestyle that will revolve around driverless technology and greater safety.

Hyundai has teamed up with Cisco to create a new connected car platform which will aim to link a car to everything from your home and office and also the city's infrastructure.

The connected car is planned to be fully driverless and will have advanced live mapping to determine the best route to your destination.

Hyundai also want the hyper connected car to be able to monitor and resolve issues with itself remotely, making an inconvenient trip to the mechanic a thing of the past.

Also to be included is what Hyundai cryptically calls a 'mobility hub' and claims will connect users with every aspect of their daily life.

While all this is blue-sky thinking, Hyundai will be showcasing real-life autonomous technology in its upcoming Hyundai Ioniq hybrid at CES. Utilising an array of laser and radar detection systems which help the Ioniq to position itself in the lane correctly and detect other objects and to self navigate.

The South Korean car maker will hold demonstrations around the CES convention of this technology.

And one final nugget from Hyundai adds another layer of convenience to your daily life that should enable anyone who is so inclined to never have to walk again.

In what Hyundai terms 'final-mile mobility' which translates to an electric scooter that comes with your car that enables anyone to scoot the last few steps to their destination without a single push.
