Hyundai are preparing to rattle the cages of the established luxury car manufacturers with their RWD 4.6-litre V8 powered Genesis i50 sedan (pictured), due in North American dealerships around mid 2008, all being well.

It was logical to assume that the Genesis was going to be the new pinnacle of the Hyundai range – a car that in the States at least would offer well put together luxury motoring at a keen discount to the European and Japanese equivalents.

The top brass at Hyundai obviously haven’t heard the saying “biting off more than you can chew” as they have recently begun testing a long-wheel-base luxury sedan, codenamed BHL and dubbed the i70 by those outside Hyundai.

Few details are known but it is believed to be V8 powered and even more prestigious than the Genesis sedan. With Cadillac and Lexus firmly in their sites you can expect Hyundai to make sure the LWB BHL is one with the lot. Tap the link to visit leftlanenews and check out the spy footage. It’s estimated that the LWB BHL will be released about 12 months after the Genesis.
