The year is off to a hot start for Hyundai, with a 5.5 percent market share in January, and continued growth in February.
With 4,151 vehicles sold, February saw Hyundai’s market share in Australia grow to 5.9 percent – the company’s best result since the factory-owned subsidiary took over distribution in Australia in late 2003.
Director of Sales and Marketing, Kevin McCann, said that Hyundai’s more-for-less approach is proving to be a winner.
"We believe that our message based on offering high-quality products, outstanding value and affordable technology is getting through to a much wider range of consumers," commented Kevin McCann, Director of Sales and Marketing.
"The hard work of both our Dealers and the factory is ensuring our award-winning cars are fulfilling our customers' expectations."
Hyundai’s share of the van market rests comfortably at 10.4 percent, ranking third in the segment.
Passenger car sales for Hyundai are at a 7.6 percent market share, ranking fifth in the nation.
SUV sales have Hyundai placed seventh for the segment, with a 5.6 percent market share.
While it’s set to be superseded by the incoming i20, the Getz continues to perform. It holds top spot the light car segment with a 16.7 percent market share.
The multi-award winning i30 five-door hatch is ranked fourth in the small car segment, thanks to a best-ever sales results of 1,234 cars.
