Based on Hyundai's RWD Genesis platform the Genesis Coupe is simply magnificent in the metal. Hyundai have confirmed that the Coupe will feature a turbo-charged four-cylinder engine. The new engine is a joint development between Hyundai, Chrysler and Mitsubishi. Displacing 2.0-litres it will feature direct-injection and should be a favouite for the tuner set.

The turbo Coupe will also feature a six-speed manual, possibly an optional LSD and there may even be some Hyundai factory performance parts on the way. The V6 variant of the Coupe will feature a 3.8-litre V6 expected to produce in excess of 224kW/300hp but expect the turbo four to be the popular choice on the street.

A V8 Genesis Coupe? We hope so but Hyundai are saying no for the moment.
