For fans of 'biggest is best', the good news today is that the Hummer H3 has been officially launched in Australia. Fuel prices may be high and the environment may be on the lips of many but that hasn’t stopped 400 eager consumers from pre-ordering the big SUV prior to its launch today.

There will be three models available in Australia – the entry level H3, the ultimate off-road H3 Adventure and highly specified H3 Luxury. The Australian launch of the Hummer is part of a global roll-out that includes the introduction of RHD Hummers into Europe.

The introduction of the H3 mid-size (Australian’s will consider it large) SUV, in North America has also helped make Hummer one of the fastest growing GM brands.

The Hummer H3 may not be to everyone’s taste but if you like big, imposing and unique (in Australia at least) then the H3 is certainly worth a look. In a world full of clone like Japanese SUV’s the Hummer H3 is a breath of fresh air…for some.

Australian customers have already begun taking delivery of their super sized H3’s. Interestingly, the press release refers to the H3 as being of a “city-friendly size” – fair enough.
