Holden’s new Trailblazer off-roader has been scored at the maximum 5-stars for safety by the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP).

The model destined to replace the Colorado 7 in Holden’s line-up follows on from the Colorado pickup which was also awarded 5-stars for safety earlier this month.

However, the pickup actually pipped the SUV in its overall score by 0.4 points, with an overall score of 34.49 out of 37 compared with 34.89 for the updated Colorado.

Why? The Trailblazer scored 2.6 out of three points for its seatbelt reminder rating, while the Colorado was awarded the full three points.
