Holden has recalled its JG Cruze small car due to a potential risk of engine stalling.

The carmaker has identified a fault with the wiring loom for the Engine Control Module (ECM), which may be subject to corrosion over an extended period of time.

If the wires become corroded and cease to operate, the engine may stall unexpectedly while stationary or driving at low speed. This could prove a hazard to the vehicle occupants and other road users.

There have been no reports of any incidents resulting from this problem in Australia to date.

A total of 10,214 vehicles are affected in Australia from the 2010 model-year, and each is fitted with the 2.0 litre four-cylinder diesel engine.
