Holden has recalled its CG Captiva 5 and CG Captiva 7 SUV models, built between May 2014 and September of this year.

While there is no apparent problem with the vehicle itself, the factory-supplied jack has come into focus for wearing incorrect labelling.

Under the rules for Australian and New Zealand standards, a jack designed to be used with a specific vehicle - in this case, the Holden Captiva - must not wear a ‘safe working load’ sticker.

Authorities fear Captiva owners may be lured into a false sense of security by the sticker, and may attempt to use the jack with a vehicle for which it is not suitable.
