GT-R Spec-V to debut at Paris show?

According to recent rumours in Car and Driver, Nissan's harder-core GT-R Spec-V could be on sale in Japan as early as December this year.

The leaner, meaner GT-R is widely believed to have roughly 52kW more to play with, while weight is said to be 150kg lower than the standard model. Considering the standard package is good enough for a 7 minute, 29 second Nurburgring laptime, the Spec-V should really be something special. Car and Driver believe the Spec-V will debut at the Paris motor show in October, with sales starting in the GT-R's homeland two months later.

Interestingly, C&D also say that Nissan executives regard the GT-R as unprofitable. Of course, with virtually zero parts commonality between the R35 GT-R and the rest of the Nissan range, development costs were always going to be high. However, as the GT-R continues to be released in more and more markets and its complex technology trickles down to other models (like the rumoured 4-door GT-R), the R35 should start to turn Nissan a tidy profit.
