TMR’s Tony O’Kane put the 103kW (138hp) 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan TDI through its paces back in December, describing it as one of the best-handling soft-roaders on the market.

Imagine, then, how he’d find this 225kW (300hp) version of the 2.0 litre TFSI Tiguan.  I don’t know what B&B’s rooms and breakfast menu is like, but that’s a good start.

The German tinkerers offering tuning packages for the entire Tiguan engine range.  The range-topping 126kW (170hp) 2.0 litre TFSI can be tuned to 164, 208 or 225kW (220, 280, 300hp), while the base 1.4 litre TSI can be tuned up from its 112kW starting point to 141, 149 or 165kW (190, 200, 220hp).

The diesel models get some attention as well, with the 104kW (140hp) version of the 2.0 litre TDI getting either 129 or 150kW (174, 200hp) tuning options, and the (170hp) version offering 150 or 164kW options (200, 220hp).

Engine mods aside, the B&B Tiguan mods can be optioned with a sportier body kit, along with 40mm lower suspension, sports exhaust and new rims in either 18, 19 or 20-inch sizes.
