Well, here it is finally. It?s not a prototype or a spy photo, its the real deal. Pictures of the new Mitsubishi Evo X have been released and while Mitsubishi still refer to it as a design study it is the new for 2007 Mitsubishi Evo X.
While no drivetrain specs have been released with these pictures the production Evo X is known to use a new 2.0-litre four cylinder turbo-charged engine that is expected to produce at least 216Kw. The all-wheel drive system is new and provocatively named S-AWC2?
It looks as though two transmissions will be available. A new six-speed DSG type manual in addition to the ?normal? six-speed manual type manual?
Mitsubishi appear keen to move the profile of the Evo away from its current boy racer image and hope that the new Evo X will achieve this for them. The big question is, will the price move up with the new cars profile?
The Mitsubishi Evo X is not due for release until this years Frankfurt Motor Show and Australia would be unlikely to see the Evo X until early 2008.
The new Mitsubishi Evo X looks sensational and providing the value pricing of the current model is maintained it is my prediction that there will be a long waiting list of enthusiasts wanting to get their bum on the seat and their hands behind the wheel of this very special Mitsubishi.
