Most of us would be happy just to have a Lamborghini (even for a day), and the colour of the trim and paint, or the choice of interior highlights would be of no consequence. But, for some, the devil is in the detail and the idea of buying an orange Gallardo with a plain black interior is as unthinkable as missing the annual summer vacation in Tuscany.

At least that is what Lamborghini are counting on with their new ?Ad Personam? program which puts the purchaser in the driver?s seat when it comes to mixing and matching trim, colour and option choices. Think of the impossible and Lamborghini will create it for you, at a price of course.

"Lamborghini is strongly focusing on the Ad Personam personalization program due to the importance of offering customers the widest range of possibilities for individualizing their cars. This allows them the ability to reflect their own personality and style. Many of our customers take advantage of this program as a tool for owning an even more exclusive Lamborghini," states Stephan Winkelmann, president and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini.

The Ad Personam program is being launched by Lamborghini at the Detroit Auto Show this week and they will have three cars on display to show just the kind of thing that is possible. A matte brown (Marrone Apus) Gallardo Spyder with matching brown Alcantara interior (Marrone Gaia) will feature alongside two matte light blue (Blue Cepheus) Murcielago LP640?s, a Coupe and Roadster, both with natural untreated Italian leather interiors.

We can only hope that when Lamborghini say ?think of the impossible? they won?t bow to requests for pink Gallardo?s with white interiors, or Murcielago?s with chrome wheel spinners and flip paintwork...
