Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV) have announced the release of their new limited-edition F6 R-Spec Typhoon. The F6 R-Spec is one of two expected limited-edition releases in the lead-up to the new ?Orion? Falcon in early 2008, the other being the rumoured ?Cobra?.
The F6 R-Spec features FPV?s R-Spec suspension package as first introduced on the GT 40th Anniversary limited edition. Setting the R-Spec apart from the run-of-the-mill F6 are unique R-Spec badging and ?Dark Argent? gunmetal accents on the rear spoiler and alloy wheels.
?The initial idea behind R-Spec was to provide an FPV vehicle for those people who wanted to be more competitive at track days and club sprint events, but who didn?t want to compromise on the comfort of daily driving either. The GT 40th Anniversary succeeded in fitting that brief, and now for the first time our customers can enjoy the same superior level of suspension and handling on our award-winning Typhoon model. The set-up on the F6 is different to our Boss 290 package to account for the different mass of the Typhoon. The most significant change has been to the front end damper tune?, said FPV General Manager Rod Barrett
Inside, the R-Spec features FPV?s leather seats and an iPod/MP3 audio player connection as standard. Floor mats feature an embossed F6 R-Spec logo. The R-Spec is available in six colours including Neo, Ego, Silhouette, Winter Light, Vixen and Lightning Strike.
Pricing starts at $63,310 excluding dealer delivery and govt charges. The R-Spec is available with either a six-speed manual or the excellent ZF six-speed automatic gearbox.
