The best images yet of Nissans 2008 GT-R have been taken when one turned up at last weeks Goodood Festival of Speed in the UK. Still decked out in the obligatory bra it nonetheless leaves little to the imagination and it is quite obvious that the new GT-R is an absolute stunner.
We just know that this will be one of our all time favourite cars and as already reported the GT-R is expected to be the first in a line of new Japanese home grown supercars, set to give the establishment a real shake-up. The Nissan GT-R is expected to be followed by the Lexus LF-A (possibly in 2008) and Honda?s NSX which is still in its gestation period.
The first generation of Japanese supercars were the previous model Skyline GT-R?s, Toyota?s turbo-charged Supra and of course Honda?s NSX. They certainly took the fight to the Europeans but it would be the general consensus that they came in a close second. We believe that history will record the second generation of Japanese supercars as being at the very least the equal of their rivals from Europe if not better?
