The Falcon 'Orion' due for release in (early?) 2008 may be the big Ford news in Australia at the moment. There is no doubt that Ford have their Australian future riding on the Orion's shoulders but we believe there is another Ford model set to debut in Oz later this year that could very well prove to be Ford Australia's real future over the next decade. The Mondeo...

The following video is care of Fifth Gear, the presenter is annoying but the Mondeo looks very impressive.

The new Ford Mondeo is set to go on sale in the UK this month and will join Ford Australia's range later this year. This is the Mondeo's 'second coming' in Australia but this time around we think Australia is ready.

The large Aussie sedan appears to be in its twilight years and the new Mondeo is a little larger than before, distinctively handsome and apparently a bloody good steer. By this time next year Ford are arguably going to have one of the best range of small, medium and large cars in their price ranges. Times might be tough at Broadmeadows right now but we predict a bumper 2008 for Ford.

If the pricing is right and Ford Oz can get their hands on enough Mondeo stock we think they are going to have a run-away success on their hands. For more details on the new Ford Mondeo look out for our feature over the coming days.
