We thought we were going to see it at the 2007 Sydney Motor Show but it was not to be, however we have today received confirmation that Ferrari will display a 430 Scuderia at the 2008 Melbourne International Motor Show beginning the 29th of February.

“The Ferrari 430 Scuderia is the epitome of everything that makes Ferrari the finest producer of super cars and racing machines,” says Kevin Wall, General Manager for Ferrari in Australia and New Zealand.

Much more than a new version of the Ferrari F430 the 430 Scuderia takes all the latest technology from Ferrari’s Formula One and road cars to produce a new model that is not only faster but also more fuel efficient. It is as quick around the Ferrari Fiorano test track as the V12 powered Ferrari Enzo..

The 430 Scuderia will sprint from 0-100 km/h in a sizzling 3.6 seconds, hit 200 km/h in 11.6 seconds and take care of the standing kilometer in 20.9 seconds en route to a top speed in excess of 320 km/h.

But straight-line performance is only part of the Ferrari 430 Scuderia story - thanks to the latest technology, including sophisticated aerodynamics, F1-SuperFast2 gearbox and E-Diff coupled with the sophisticated F1-Trac traction control system, the 430 Scuderia corners as well as it slingshots down the straights – as you would expect of a car whose chassis was tuned in consultation with Michael Schumacher.

The seven time world champion has spent hours on the test track and on normal roads, honing and refining the 430 Scuderia so that it is not only exceptionally fast, it is also highly capable.

Despite the performance gain over the standard F430, the 430 Scuderia produces less CO2 and enjoys a lower official fuel consumption figure, aided by the fact that while downforce is 30kg up on the normal 430, there is no corresponding increase in drag.

There are now more than 80 Australian’s and New Zealanders who have their name on the ‘would-be-owner’ list with deliveries due to get underway in mid-2008, amid intense worldwide demand for what is arguably the most complete Ferrari road-car package ever.

Things you should know about the Scuderia.
