F1: Webber Confident Ahead Of Abu Dhabi Finale Photo:

AUSTRALIAN STAR Mark Webber has declared he is expecting to again challenge for race victory in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit this weekend.

Webber claimed the second victory of his career in a dominating display at the previous race in Sao Paolo, and is confident the new track will suit the characteristics of his Red Bull machine.

?I'm expecting us to be pretty strong in Abu Dhabi,? he said. "We've been pretty strong since Singapore, so there's no reason to suggest that we can't be fighting towards the sharp end again.

?As usual, qualifying will be very important and then we'll see how the race goes from there. We're looking to finish off on a high for the team.?

Meanwhile, Japanese driver Kamui Kobayashi will get another opportunity to press his case for a full time drive with Toyota next season after Timo Glock was ruled out of the Abu Dhabi race.

Glock sustained a cracked vertebra following a heavy crash in qualifying at the Japanese Grand Prix and was only expected to miss one race.


However, Toyota, in consultation with Glock and his management decided against allowing the German return for the final race of the season.

Toyota F1 boss John Howett said the team was unwilling to take any risks at Yas Marina, the latest addition to the F1 calendar.

?We feel genuinely sorry for Timo that his season, which has included two impressive podium finishes, is ending in this way,? he said.

?Having discussed the medical advice with Timo and his management, the team has decided to take no risk and to put Kamui in the car. Kamui performed well in Brazil in difficult circumstances so we are happy to ask him to once again deputise.?

Glock?s future with Toyota is doubtful after the team failed to offer the 27-year-old a contract extension for next season, along with team mate Jarno Trulli.
