WILLIAMS' NICO ROSBERG has revealed he would be willing to take a pay cut in order to secure a drive with McLaren for the 2010 season.

Rosberg has grown increasingly frustrated at Williams’ inability to challenge for podiums regularly despite finishing in the points for the last six races.

And with McLaren driver Heikki Kovalainen under pressure to retain his seat for next year, Rosberg said he would relish the chance to race with the outfit despite the presence of a clear number-one driver in Lewis Hamilton.

"I have been team-mate with Lewis before so that wouldn't be a problem. It would be fun and very tough also, a combination - sweet and sour. I would like a good team-mate for sure ,” he said.

"Team-mate is a factor. Potential for development for the future, who the key people in the team are and the management and everything. All these things come into it.

"Budget, salary they are able to pay. I am prepared to put salary last, that's nowhere near the priority as I really would like to have some good results now."

Kovalainen meanwhile has told Autosport he doesn’t feel under any extra pressure despite McLaren team boss Martin Whitmarsh saying the Finn was effectively driving for his future with the team.

After an inconsistent debut season with McLaren, where he was able to claim a solitary victory, Kovalainen has struggled while being comprehensively outperformed by team mate Hamilton.

"Obviously I see at the moment that it's important to get good results for myself and the team. But I don't get any more pressure from what Martin has said,” he said.

"A driver who wants to be successful always puts a lot of pressure on himself and I put a lot of pressure on myself. I want to do well, I want to do better than fifth in races and that's what I'm focusing on. I'm not concerned about rumours and speculation."
