RENAULT HAS THIS week revealed its 2010 Renault R30 F1 car, along with new driver Vitaly Petrov, Russia's first F1 steerer.

The 25 year-old GP2 runner-up joined teammate Robert Kubica at the R30's unveiling, revealing a yellow-and-black livery inspired by the team's 2007 30th anniversary R27 and the RS01 before it.

The 'new' colour scheme follows the exit of Renault's previous title sponsor, ING, which saw the team's cars decked out in a white, orange and blue livery.

Largely an evolution of last year's R29 design, the R30 features a shark-fin style engine cover similar to that used by McLaren and Sauber.

Renault will be hoping to turn its fortunes around, with a dismal 2009 showing giving the team only 26 points and an eighth-place finish at the end of the season.

Following reports that Renault was considering selling its F1 team at the end of last year, Genii Capital bought a majority stake in the team.

"The start of a new Formula 1 season is always a time of great anticipation," new team principal Eric Boullier told motorsport.com.

"For Renault, this is particularly true of the 2010 season as we begin a new era for the team. With a new structure in place, new drivers, and new colours, there is a lot to be excited about and a lot to look forward to in the year ahead".
