When Volkswagen unveiled the utterly insane Golf GTI W12 Concept way back in 2007, the heads of VW enthusiasts all around the world spontaneously exploded.  You might have seen it on the news.

Making 485kW (650hp) through its Phaeton-donated 6.0 litre W12 engine, the concept was wild, to say the least, but never destined for production.

Now, a group of mad Dutchmen can get you at least part-way there.

Exclusive Tuning Worldwide has poured months of sweat into developing the W12-inspired body kit and it’s now available for the three-door Golf V GTI.  Looking at it, it’d probably fit on your R32 as well, if you’re so inclined.

The kit consists of all the bits you’d expect, and it’s a fairly involved one.  New rear and front bumpers, front grille, side skirts with cosmetic air vents, four tail pipes, a redesigned hatch door and fenders widened by 60mm to finish off the look.

Sadly, the W12 visual transformation is a project best undertaken by European owners.

The work involved is quite labour-intensive and best left to ETW to manage – so unless you want to ship your GTI to Holland and buck, it might be best to find another body kit option locally.

For our Euro readers, you can have the W12 kit bought and installed for €13,025 (excluding tax).  For our Aussie onlookers, that’s about AUD$25,600.  Buy your wife a new VW Golf VI instead, eh?
