If the news blazing around the online world today is to be believed, Crane Cams ??? renowned makers of valvetrain components and a 56-year-old business - has closed up shop and laid off all of its workers.
According to the Florida News Journal, Workers at Crane Cams had apparently been advised that lay-offs were on the cards in the near future, but none of the company???s workforce were expecting the entire business to close down.
From the Florida News Journal:
Inside the lobby, a reception desk sat empty. A call from the lobby phone got an answer from Dennis Burgess, who declined to comment and said no one at the plant could provide information.
In the parking lot, 14-year employee Ronald Dorn was leaving the plant for what he believed was the last time
He said workers were told during the past week that layoffs were likely, but he didn???t expect the plant to close.
TMR put in a call to Crane Technologies Australia this morning to get some word on this story.
???It???s rubbish. The company???s been bought out, and the offices and factory have closed down for a week or so while they finalise the changeover,??? said a spokesman for the company.
Whatever the case may be, there???s either some serious miscommunication and poor management going on, or someone???s telling curly ones and the rest of the internet is latching on.
