Bugatti recently unveiled the Bleu Centenaire Edition of its all-conquering Veyron supercar, to celebrate its 100th anniversary. For those expecting a little more from the outlandishly over-the-top manufacturer; rest assured, bigger and better things are on the way later in the year.

Although details are a little scarce at the moment, Bugatti is apparently advanced in planning for an all-new Veyron replacment. With an all-new design, the new car will exceed the performance of the rumoured and soon to arrive higher-output version of the existing Veyron.

Much of the philosophy behind the car will remain the same. You can expect to find a seven-figure price tag attached, with an upgraded version of the quad-turbo W16 engine that currently powers the Veyron.

No big leaps and bounds are expected (after all, how much more improving can be done?), but rest assured the new car will incrementally build on the imposing numbers set down by the Veyron. The Frankfurt Motor Show should see a concept version of the car making its first public appearance.

The on-sale date is tipped to be somewhere around 2011 or 2012. Bugatti will have its fingers crossed that this whole financial crisis thing will be done and dusted by then and well-heeled punters will be ready to throw their money again at a mind-blowingly quick new supercar.
