BMW have released their latest design study based on the 1 Series Coupe. Dubbed the Concept 1-Series Tii, it looks the part but there is no word how well endowed the little racer is, with BMW not releasing drivetrain specifications, so lets pretend its packing the 335i?s turbo-charged six as then it all starts to make sense.

BMW say the Tii has be screwed together with an uncompromising focus on motorsport and that it represents a ?young interpretation? of classic BMW brand values.

Exterior features include ?optimised aerodynamics? on the body with the distinctive design of the front air dam, side-sills and rear air dam. Special gurney flaps help generate additional downforce on the rear axle.

The Tii designers have made use of carbon components on the engine compartment lid, the mirror caps, and the inlays for the front air intakes at the side in an effort to reduce the weight of the Tii over the standard production 1-Series Coupe.

On the inside the Tii is equipped with Sports bucket seats with integrated headrests and side airbags, a three-spoke sports steering wheel and gearshift knob with alcantara cover, model-specific door linings, door closing handles and armrest on the driver's side. The white rev counter highlights this instrument of particular significance in motorsport and while it looks like a dog with a bung eye it does integrate with the sports steering wheel and its white spokes and trim, sort of.

It might not be to everyone?s taste but the Tii should go like a ?cut cat? with our imaginary turbo-charged 3.0-litre 225kW six under the bonnet.
