Audi TT Clubsport Quattro to be built for lucky few

Remember the stunning Audi TT Clubsport Quattro from 2007? Well, according to Car Audi are set to produce a limited run of between 50 and 100 of the roofless roadster which is great news. The not so good news is that they look likely to head to just one destination, the Middle East.

The rationale behind restricting this very special, roofless car to just one market is quite simply the weather. Without a roof of any sort, the Middle East is the one place where the TT Clubsport Quattro stands the best chance of not being rained upon.

Interestingly, Audi’s European spokesman has denied production plans for the TT Clubsport Quattro despite a ‘production ready’ mule being spotted out and about. However, mum is not the word with regard to Audi’s Middle East marketing director Bernd Rosenbichler, who confirmed the limited production run.

“We have been asked (by Audi) if we could imagine bringing this car here. We are planning on making the worldwide premiere of this car here and then launching it just for the region,” Rosenbichler told Car.

It doesn’t rain a whole lot in Australia either. Do you think if we asked nicely...?
